About the client

Our client is a Dutch advisory firm supporting clients with financial and tax-related matters. They offer an integrated range of services in accountancy and advisory in the areas of taxation, financial planning, legal matters, business succession, and financing, both nationally and internationally.

With a growing need for transfer pricing benchmark studies, they were looking for a flexible solution that would match their team’s size and workflow.

Their goal? To offer clients professional benchmark data without having to purchase an expensive full database or outsource the entire process.

The challenge

Our client wanted to expand their offering by providing benchmark studies to their clients. However, with a small team, limited budget, and minimal experience with benchmarking, it’s difficult to provide perfect, ready, and tested benchmark studies to their clients.

So, they were looking for a pay-per-use solution, one that included hands-on support. Not just software, but a partner who could really think along.

Their goals

Having employees at Coperitas who’ve faced the same benchmarking challenges in the past, we knew exactly the kinds of frustrations they were dealing with. We tested those assumptions with them and defined the following objectives:

Our approach

From day one, our focus was on delivering quick results so our client could support their clients as fast as possible. Here’s how we tackled it:

  1. Collecting info
    We started by asking our client for some key company details and any specific search preferences for their benchmark, all captured using our standard format.
  2. Checking the input
    We checked the input for completeness and logic. Were there inconsistencies? If so, we followed up with clarifying questions. We also offered strategic support on how to approach the search and which filters would (or wouldn’t) be helpful.
  3. Creating the benchmark
    Once the briefing was complete, we kicked off the benchmark process based on the requirements defined in the earlier steps.
  4. The first results
    The first results were run through our AI screening module to provide them with not only data but also the results of the benchmark study.
  5. Checking in with the client
    Our client reviewed the first version and could request adjustments if needed. We processed any changes right away, keeping communication clear and to the point.
  6. Final delivery & follow-up
    We delivered an improved benchmark and followed up with our client to ensure everything was in order. If there were extra questions, we gladly helped, even offering an extra call when needed.
